asa-103: basic cruising

 Prerequisite Certification: ASA-101

Experience Level: “I’ve confidently sailed on my own and am ready for the next challenge!”

ASA 103- Basic Cruising teaches prop walk, fueling, aids to navigation, chart symbols and Rules of the Road. This course is a must-have for sailors looking to take their skills to the next level, and prepare to host friends and family on their own boat for extended periods of time. During the course you will continue to improve your man overboard and sailing skills, while adding docking under power, anchoring, and chart reading. ASA-103 includes Coastal Cruising Made Easy, the ASA-103 textbook. This course is one day on the water followed by one day in the classroom.

Cost: $540 for individuals, $1050 for a pair, or $1495 for three people. Includes textbook mailed to each student, and free ASA 103 online prep course.

ASA 103 & 104 – Lake Superior at Bayfield, WI

ASA 103 and 104 are offered together as a combination course sailing from Bayfield, Wisconsin on Lake Superior. The perfect four-day getaway to complete your ASA 103 and ASA 104 certifications at the same time. Includes all breakfasts and lunches as well as Saturday evening dinner onboard while anchored out. This is a sleep-aboard course.

Cost: $1325 per person. $2550 for 2. $3725 for 3. $4865 for 4.

Each student receives 103 and 104 textbooks. Audit discount: $30 per course.

Pre-boarding starts at 7pm the night before the course begins. Option to meet your captain and crew for dinner the first night at a Bayfield restaurant within a block of our boat.
